The Undergraduate Government of Boston College (UGBC) serves as the voice of the student community on campus. UGBC strives to make sure that every student experiences the best that Boston College has to offer. Accomplishing such a goal requires great effort and great student leaders. Each individual’s commitment to UGBC keeps it strong and we hope you enjoy our work. UGBC’s most visible endeavors come in the form of events, on and off campus. The fall and spring concerts over past years have featured the likes of Kanye West, Will Ferrell, and the Roots, all brought to campus by UGBC with the hopes of entertaining students! More intimate events include speakers, a “Pub Series” for students 21 and older, and even Homecoming. These events offer great opportunities for students to learn, have fun, and take advantage of the fantastic BC community. Events are always happening on campus and are surely not limited to those mentioned above. If you are ever at a loss for something to do, check out our Calendar to see what’s happening on campus! While events are a focus of UGBC, much of its time and effort is spent listening to students' concerns and trying to create new policies and programs through the university to address those issues. You may have taken advantage of polls on the website or even seen UGBC members walking though dorm halls to speak to students directly. The President and Vice-President of UGBC speak to university Vice-Presidents and the Board of Trustees regularly to act as advocates for the student voice. If you are interested in finding out what UGBC is working on right now, check out the General Meeting minutes or the Executive Corner update which can be found Here. All of the initiatives and projects we work on are student driven. It is of great importance that we obtain feedback and ideas from all students. If you see something you want to get involved in, shoot us an email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . We’d love to hear from you! UGBC is an umbrella organization and we have several organizations that act as semi-autonomous branches of the student government. The Senate is a group of elected officials representing each class year at BC with the goal of creating legislation to represent the student voice. The AHANA Leadership council (ALC) and the GLBTQ Leadership Council (GLC) both act to the enhance student involvement and advocate for specific student voices that may not be easily heard. These groups are very important and compliment each other as we work toward the future. UGBC is a large organization with many different faces and opportunities. Our work keeps us busy all day, every day because the needs of students cannot be limited into a traditional work day. We are students working for students and love our jobs. We would love the opportunity to get to know you. Take some time to get to know us using our website, emailing us, coming to a general meeting, or just asking around on campus; you'll be sure to find us. Thank you for taking the time to read about what we do! As a result, we hope you "Experience a Better BC". Love,
