CORE VALUES

The AHANA Leadership Council expects that each and every one of its members and affiliates uphold 5 major values that serve as the essence of the organization’s mission.

Service:
Service embraces the concern, compassion, and sensitivity with which we care for our fellow AHANA students as individuals on a one-to-one basis. The value of service illustrates the mission of not only the AHANA Leadership Council, but also of Boston College and its commitment to the Jesuit motto of “Educating men and women for others.”

Respect:
Respect is the acknowledgement of each person’s humanity; we strive to ensure that all interactions between students, administrators, faculty, and other members of the council are honest, dignified, and genuine.

Justice:
We demand, from all of our members, the highest level of commitment to obtaining absolute justice for all members of the AHANA community and the greater Boston College community.

Excellence:
Excellence is the manner in which we shall strive to all complete all of our duties, regardless of the level of importance.

Community:
Community is the founding principle of our establishment. Everything that we accomplish or even attempt to accomplish will always be in the best interest of the community. For if the community does not exist; neither does ALC.
