UGBC Judiciary Council

The Judicial Branch shall work to serve the interests of the student body by ensuring that the Legislative and Executive Branches of the undergraduate government are working together in harmony for the betterment of all undergraduate students at Boston College.

This Judiciary Council’s primary duty will be to coordinate the implementation of UGBC policies and uphold the UGBC Constitution. As the inaugural members of the Judicial Branch, this council will seek to establish precedents and protocols for the future.

Principal Duties

  • Coordinate the enforcement of UGBC policies.
  • Ensure the UGBC Constitution and By-Laws are followed.
  • Advise the Legislative and Executive Branches on Protocol.

 

 Special Duties:

  • Legislative: Review the constitutionality of UGBC legislation after a complaint has been issued.
  • Executive: Review the constitutionality and propriety of executive action after a complaint has been issued.
  • Perform hearings and investigations at the request of the Legislative or Executive Branches.
  • Arbitrate on any internal UGBC disputes that may arise.
