o Panelists:
§ Charles Derber, Ph.D. - Charles Derber thinks of himself as a writer who studies the "big picture" of American culture and global capitalism. His recent books focus on globalization, terrorism, the culture of hegemony, and the power of multinational corporations. He has also written extensively on the crisis of individualism that defines American life, showing how our problems of community are organically tied to economic and political forces.
§ Charlie Lord, Esq. – Mr. Lord has taught environmental law and policy and environmental legal history at Boston College Law School and is now a lecturer in the Environmental Studies Program at Boston College. He is also on the board of directors for the Community Rights Council in Washington, D.C. He has published numerous articles on environmental law, environmental justice, and environmental policy.
§ Herman Karl, Ph.D. - Herman Karl is a principal scientist in the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Science Impact program and co-director of the MIT-USGS Science Impact Collaborative. He studies the role of science and scientists within a collaborative process model that applies a joint fact finding and adaptive management approach to environmental policy and natural resource management decisions. In this model, citizen stewards partner with government to achieve sustainable policies.)
