  • Create a shuttle service to the Watertown Mall 1-2 times a semester
Beginning in the fall of 2009, UGBC is proud to offer its "Watertown Mall service" to the Watertown Mall area. This is a pilot program that will be run throughout the course of the 2009 fall semester. The first date for the program will be Sunday September 13th, 2009, and there will be an additional 3 dates in the fall semester. As the date gets closer check out this page for more updates.
  • Follow through implementing the GPS system for shuttle buses
UGBC is pleased to announced that its GPS system will be live for the Fall of 2009! Through working with PJ Capadonna in the Parking and Transportation Office members of the BC Community will be able to track the buses online and on mobile phone via a GPS website. The website should be up and running by the start of the academic year, and will help members plan their travel commutes more efficiently. Please check out this article here for the official release.
  • Propose a bike rental service to travel off-campus
Currently, UGBC is working with the Office of Parking and Transportation to implement a Bike Share Program on campus. We currently have the storage space as well as a proposed vendor and we are now securing resources and finalizing the nuts and bolts of the program. We hope to have this in place for late fall of 2009 or early spring 2010. Questions? Contact the UGBC Co-Directors of Transportation, Megan Fitzgerald and Evan Asche
  • Explore a relationship with the MBTA
Over the summer all BC students should have received an e-mail regarding the ability to purchase a discounted MBTA pass. This was secured by The Office of Parking and Transportation.
  • Establish a taxi share system
Currently, UGBC is working on developing a taxi share system that will be implemented on UGBC.org. This will help students pair up with other students around travel times such as Thanksgiving and Easter to split taxi rides to the airport to save on money. Currently, Executive Director of Communications Sam Lipscomb is working on this project. Please contact her for questions.
