). Enjoy! We'll see you again in the Fall. BC DATES WEEK 2009 Save the Date: UGBC, RHA, ODSD, BCSSH, Intersections and the Heights request the honor of your presence at the first ever BC Dates Week! The week will continue TONIGHT with Dating Game: BC. Come to Higgins 300 at 8:00PM to watch your friends and classmates participate in this live event. Tomorrow evening will conclude BC Dates Week with the BC Student Dating Panel, moderated by dating guru Professor Kerry Cronin. Come to Cushing 001 at 7:30PM to hear from students at BC who are currently dating. At all of these events a group known as BC Harmony will be passing out surveys to help match you up with someone of similar interests! If you are interested in potentially going on a date please make sure to come out to an event to fill out a survey so you can get matched up. SPEAKER: PROFESSOR SARAH MCFARLAND TAYLOR ON "GREEN SISTERS: A SPIRITUAL ECOLOGY" Professor Sarah McFarland Taylor (Northwestern University) will speak on "Green Sisters: A Spiritual Ecology" on Earth Day! Come to the McElroy Conference Room (2nd floor) TODAY, Wednesday, April 22nd, at 4:30PM. Her award-winning book chronicles the growing movement of environmentally activist Roman Catholic nuns in North America. Not herself a nun, or even a Catholic, McFarland Taylor is nationally-known for her work on "the green burial movement" and the emergence (within diverse religious and ethnic communities) of prayers, meditations, and rituals specifically directed toward climate crisis and how ritual performances do or do not (as the case may be) become coupled with direct political action. ). MODSTOCK + SPRINGFEST + MUDSTOCK Celebrate the last day of classes on Thursday, April 30th, with an all-day festival on Lower Campus! Start by watching teams compete in Mudstock, a mud volleyball tournament, in the Edmond's Lot from 9:00AM until 5:00PM and see who will be the first ever BC Mudstock Champion! Then move to the Mod Lot for Springfest, brought to you by RHA, from 11:00AM until 3:00PM. Enjoy free food, carnival games, a tricycle race, a mechanical bull and more! Finally, stick around for the grand finale: Modstock will be in the Mod Lot from 4:00PM until 8:00PM! Listen to 3 great acts, plus the winner of the Battle of the Bands, to round off a great spring semester. Acts for Modstock to be announced shortly. ).  MUDSTOCK 2009 Get ready! UGBC is introducing Mudstock 2009, the first mud volleyball tournament to be held on campus for Boston College students! On Thursday, April 30th, from 9AM until 5PM, teams of six will compete in 8" of mud for the chance to be the first Mudstock Champions! Registration is closed as we already have 64 teams ready to play next week, but if you have a friend on a team that has room you may be able to be added. ). BC FOR LOCKS OF LOVE STOP! Don't cut your hair! Instead, donate to the Locks of Love organization! Your 10” ponytail will be used to make hairpieces for children who have lost their hair due to illness. SAAC FASHION SHOW Come to Conte Forum on Thursday, April 23rd, at 7PM to watch your favorite student-athletes strut their stuff on the catwalk to raise money for the St. Columbkille Elementary School, a partner school of BC where SAAC participates in a number of community service programs. Sponsored by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, the Fashion Show will chronicle "A Week in the Life of a Boston College Student-Athlete" with unique looks perfect for everything from hitting the gym to formal events. In addition to the fashion portion of the show, spectators will be entertained with A cappella performances, comedy skits, and dance routines performed by some of BC's most talented musicians and actors. On Friday, April 17th, walk through the Dustbowl to check out clothes donated by student designers! Then, on Wednesday, April 22nd, be on the look out for an Arts Flashmob! Finally, come to the Artsfest Tent in O’Neil Plaza from 8PM until 10PM to experience Slam Fashionation, as student artists, designers, photographers, slam poets, and the Mario Bro’s (student DJs) come together to for an unbelievable night! ).  GROCERY SHUTTLES UGBC’s weekly Grocery Shuttles are a fantastic resource that help students easily stock the minifridge! Conveniently leaving Conte Forum most Sundays, buses transport students to and from Star Market on Beacon Street . Not only do the shuttles give students ample time to shop, running from 1PM until 5PM, but they eliminate the hassle of carrying groceries back to campus and provide the luxury of easy access to a full supermarket. ).  BOSTON COLLEGE POLICE AUCTION Come to the annual Boston College Police Department Auction! All of the proceeds of the auction will be donated to charity. This year's auction will be held on Saturday May 2, at 9AM in the Walsh Function Room in Walsh Hall. ).  UGBC SPOTLIGHT ON... Green Team at Fenway Park! Boston College is helping the Red Sox be green by sending volunteers to game to collect recyclables as part of the Green Team at Fenway Park.
