UGBC INAUGURATION
The Undergraduate Government of Boston College has selected its Cabinet for 2009-2010, and would like to introduce them to the student body! Meet your student leaders for the 2009-2010 academic year and hear them speak about the upcoming months. 2009 MKW Award Recipient

MARK KAYE WALDRON AWARD RECIPIENT ANNOUNCED
UGBC would like to congratualte Professor Jennie Purnell on receiving the 2009 Mary Kaye Waldron Award. The Mary Kaye Waldron Award was established in 1996 in honor of Mary Kaye Waldron, a BC student who died of cancer in 1995. The award recognizes a member of the BC faculty, administration, or staff who has demonstrated a continual commitment to the ideals of Boston College. 1st Ever MUDStock!

MUDSTOCK 2009
Get ready! UGBC is introducing Mudstock 2009, the first mud volleyball tournament to be held on campus for Boston College students! On Thursday, April 30th, from 9AM until 5PM, teams of six will compete in 8" of mud for the chance to be the first Mudstock Champions! Registration for seniors begins TODAY, April 14th, and general registration will take place on Wednesday, April 15th, until Friday, April 17th. Registration is $5 per person and completed registration forms can be submitted to the UGBC Office on the 2nd floor of 21 Campanella Way from 10AM until 4PM. Only the first 64 teams to register will be able to compete, so hurry and sign up now! For more information and registration forms, check out http://ugbc.org/mudstock.

Resource Fair

TAKE CARE AND BE AWARE RESOURCE FAIR
Come to the Dustbowl TODAY, Tuesday, April 14th from 1PM until 4PM for a mental health resource fair! The "Take Care and Be Aware" Resource Fair is a place where students can gain information about the many services Boston College offers to help students in terms of their mental health. It will provide students with the information of who to seek out, whether they have a problem or they just need someone to talk to. Donate to Locks for Love!

BC FOR LOCKS OF LOVE
STOP! Don't cut your hair! Instead, donate to the Locks of Love organization! Your 10” ponytail will be used to make hairpieces for children who have lost their hair due to illness. On Thursday, April 30, 2009, come to Modstock from 3:00PM until 6:00PM and support the Boston College community as we offer a venue for students to donate their hair. Questions? Director of Computer Technology Position Available

OPPORTUNITY TO JOIN UGBC, UTILIZE COMPUTER SKILLS, AND BOOST YOUR RESUME!

UGBC is looking for a Director of Computer Technology for the 2009-2010 academic year! While the Director of Computer Technology will sometimes assume the role of a web designer, the main job of the Director is to monitor, improve, and update the performance of UGBC.org. The Director of Computer Technology will also be required to code the mass email UGBC Updates that are sent bi-weekly to the student body, in addition to certain event-specific mass emails. The Director of Computer Technology must work with many different people in UGBC, since he or she is often the only one with the technical expertise to answer questions about, or troubleshoot problems with, UGBC.org. UGBC’s weekly Grocery Shuttles are a fantastic resource that help students easily stock the minifridge! Conveniently leaving Conte Forum most Sundays, buses transport students to and from Star Market on Beacon Street . Not only do the shuttles give students ample time to shop, running from 1PM until 5PM, but they eliminate the hassle of carrying groceries back to campus and provide the luxury of easy access to a full supermarket. Whether you don’t have a meal plan and need a kitchen full of cooking supplies, or you just want a snack not provided by BC Dining, UGBC’s Grocery Shuttles are here for you! Good Asian Drivers

GOOD ASIAN DRIVERS, PRESENTED BY THE WOMEN'S STUDIES PROGRAM

This dynamic duo will grace us with a slam poetry and music performance to be followed by a workshop on race, gender, and sexuality. SPEAKER: PROFESSOR SARAH MCFARLAND TAYLOR ON "GREEN SISTERS: A SPIRITUAL ECOLOGY"
Professor Sarah McFarland Taylor (Northwestern University) will speak on "Green Sisters: A Spiritual Ecology" on Earth Day! Come to the McElroy Conference Room (2nd floor) on Wednesday, April 22nd, at 4:30PM. Her award-winning book chronicles the growing movement of environmentally activist Roman Catholic nuns in North America. Not herself a nun, or even a Catholic, McFarland Taylor is nationally-known for her work on "the green burial movement" and the emergence (within diverse religious and ethnic communities) of prayers, meditations, and rituals specifically directed toward climate crisis and how ritual performances do or do not (as the case may be) become coupled with direct political action. SAAC Fashion Show

Come to Conte Forum on Thursday, April 23rd, at 7PM to watch your favorite student-athletes strut their stuff on the catwalk to raise money for the St. Columbkille Elementary School, a partner school of BC where SAAC participates in a number of community service programs. Sponsored by the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, the Fashion Show will chronicle "A Week in the Life of a Boston College Student-Athlete" with unique looks perfect for everything from hitting the gym to formal events. In addition to the fashion portion of the show, spectators will be entertained with A cappella performances, comedy skits, and dance routines performed by some of BC's most talented musicians and actors.
