BCisGREEN WEEK BCisGreen Week is a collaborative effort to support sustainability at Boston College! During the week of February 15th to 19th, 2009, join BC students, faculty, and administrators and help celebrate “green” initiatives the University has already accomplished, while promoting the backing for sustainability in the short- and long-term future! Events will include an energy conservation contest between residence halls, green giveaways at the BC vs Duke basketball game, a “Barack Obama: Energy and Environmental Policy” forum, the Green Career panel, speakers, pub series, movies and more! ENERGY CONSERVATION CONTEST Want to support sustainability and win cool prizes? From February 1st through February 28th, Residence Halls will compete against each other to see who can conserve the most energy. Each student in a winning Residence Hall will receive a prize! RECYCLEMANIA AT BOSTON COLLEGE Help Boston College to reduce waste and recycle! RecycleMania is a friendly competition and benchmarking tool for college and university recycling programs to promote waste reduction activities on campus. Over a 10-week period, schools report recycling and trash data which are then ranked. Each week, participating schools watch how their results fluctuate against other schools. ALC BALL Save the Date! Dance the night away at the annual ALC Ball at the Fairmont Copley Plaza on Friday, January 30th. Buses will load at McElroy from 6:45PM until 7:30PM. Ticket sales will begin on Monday, January 26th, for juniors and seniors only, followed by general sales from Tuesday, January 27th until Wednesday, January 28th. Conveniently leaving Conte Forum EVERY Sunday, buses transport students to and from Star Market on Beacon Street. Shuttles eliminate the hassle of carrying groceries back to campus by giving you easy access to the grocery store.
