STATE OF THE HEIGHTS

State of the Heights is an annual event that allows students and administrators to hear each others' perspectives on current campus issues and future goals. On Wednesday, January 28th, come to Fulton 511 TONIGHT at 7:30PM and listen to a panel of BC's top administrators as they speak about the state of our college. BCisGREEN WEEK

BCisGreen Week is a collaborative effort to support sustainability at Boston College! During the week of February 15th to 19th, 2009, join BC students, faculty, and administrators and help celebrate “green” initiatives the University has already accomplished, while promoting the backing for sustainability in the short- and long-term future! Events will include an energy conservation contest between residence halls, green giveaways at the BC vs Duke basketball game, a “Barack Obama: Energy and Environmental Policy” forum, the Green Career panel, speakers, pub series, movies and more! ALC BALL

Save the Date! Dance the night away at the annual ALC Ball at the Fairmont Copley Plaza on Friday, January 30th. Buses will load at McElroy from 6:45PM until 7:30PM. ENERGY CONSERVATION CONTEST

Want to support sustainability and win cool prizes? From February 1st through February 28th, Residence Halls will compete against each other to see who can conserve the most energy. Each student in a winning Residence Hall will receive a prize! Participating Residence Halls include 110 St. Thomas More, 66 Comm. RECYCLEMANIA AT BOSTON COLLEGE

Help Boston College to reduce waste and recycle! RecycleMania is a friendly competition and benchmarking tool for college and university recycling programs to promote waste reduction activities on campus. Over a 10-week period, schools report recycling and trash data which are then ranked. Each week, participating schools watch how their results fluctuate against other schools. SASA CULTURE SHOW: DHOOM DHAMAKA

Experience South Asia in a totally new way with dance performances, skits, and a fashion show! Come see Dhoom Dhamaka, the 12th annual SASA Culture Show on Saturday, February 7th, 2008. NOAM CHOMSKY TO VISIT BOSTON COLLEGE

Mark your calendar! The Boston College chapter of Psi Chi gladly welcomes the noted linguist, philosopher, and scientist Noam Chomsky as he speaks to the BC community. MID-WINTER MADNESS

On Wednesday January 28th at 9:00PM, our Men's Hockey and Basketball teams will come together in the Power Gym to gear up for the final push of their seasons! With the Beanpot and tough ACC opponents on the horizon, both squads will be doing everything they can to make that final push towards their NCAA tournaments...and they need your help! The first 800 students in attendance will get a FREE, ONE OF A KIND SuperFan Hockey or Basketball JERSEY! Also, starting at 8:30PM from the Power Gym, tours of Conte (including private locker rooms, weight rooms, media rooms, etc) will be lead by student athletes. TASTIES PATRIES WITH JORG AMSLER

Come to the Heights Room on Thursday, February 12th, from 9:00PM until 12:00AM and take part in a fun, late night pastry presentation with Jorg Amsler! Along with creating an amazing decorative cake, Jorg Amsler will teach students how to make easy desserts to try at home. Conveniently leaving Conte Forum EVERY Sunday, buses transport students to and from Star Market on Beacon Street. Shuttles eliminate the hassle of carrying groceries back to campus by giving you easy access to the grocery store.
